LORD and BURNHAM greenhouse

this Lord & Burham built greenhouse is part of my studio space at Dufferin Gardens Studios
in St. Catharines.
I own a piece of history according to this piece....

Glass Garden Builders > Lord & Burnham historyThe 126 Year Lord & Burnham Legacy:1856-1982For more than a century and a quarter, Lord & Burnham was the premier greenhouse designer and builder throughout the United States and Canada.Lord & Burnham got its start in 1856 in Massachusetts, when Frederick Lord - a carpenter with a talent for building greenhouses - founded Lord's Horticultural Manufacturing Co.Lord then set up shop on the banks of the Hudson River in Irvington, New York - a site which remained a Lord & Burnham production facility - and its headquarters -- for the next 126 years. The Burnham in Lord & Burnham is William Addison Burnham, Lord's son-in-law, with whom he formed a partnership to build greenhouses throughout North America. At its height, Lord & Burnham operated production facilities in Irvington, New York, Des Moines, Iowa and St. Catharines, Ontario. Burnham Corporation, a maker of industrial boilers, discontinued Lord & Burnham - then its greenhouse division -- in 1982, one year after its 125th anniversary. If you own a Lord & Burnham greenhouse, you own a piece of history.
